Reva University

Wired and Wireless, active and passive network infrastructure with more than 600 access points across the campus of 50 acres,

Challenges

Existing wired infrastructure very minimal with unmanaged switches.

Client wants to enable wireless throughout the 45 acre campus but confused between capex vs opex models. ISPs proposing expensive, ad-hoc hotspot solutions for wireless.

Security, a major concern for the management with students hacking into their server.

Seamless mobility throughout the campus.

Ease of policy management across wired and wireless networks

Reduced Opex
Ivorysense reduced the university’s day to day operational costs with automation, management, application assurance improving IT, agility and scalability while providing investment protection and decreasing IT staff to maintain the network.

Digital Campus Solution

We proposed a digital strategy to achieve process automation for Reva university by studying their workflow, data, processes, people and things. We ensured appropriate use of technology and designed the necessary network & IT infrastructure to enhance learning and teaching, facilitate innovative research, and improve efficiency in management and administration activities while decreasing cost.

Ivorysense rolled out high quality WiFi across the entire campus for students, staff and guests with provisions for strict access control and application priority, seamless mobility access from wired and wireless network, secure onboarding with 802.1x and active directory, and easy guest provisioning.

Ivorysense designed the entire IT infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN, Data Centre) to support Reva university’s vision of building a digital campus. This included wireless design throughout the 45 acre campus containing 600 Access Points for hostels, academic blocks, indoor and outdoor auditoriums, staff quarters, class rooms, labs, cafeterias, student resources, HR and placement areas.

Ivorysense designed the OFC and Structural Cabling solutions to support the wireless solutions as well as to expand the existing wired solutions to provide better bandwidth and upgrade their existing wired infrastructure.
